Kimmel Center Night Shot: Philadelphia, PA

I wanted to share this night shot that I took in Philadelphia a few weeks ago of the Kimmel Center. The photograph was especially interesting to me because of the lighting.

Eakins Update: 'Gross Clinic' To Stay in Philadelphia

'Gross Clinic' by Thomas Eakins will remain in Philadelphia. A consortium of private, public and governmental investors raised $68 million to keep the famous Thomas Eakins painting in the city. Leonore Annenberg ($10 million), Joseph and Jeanette Neubauer ($3 million) and H.F. "Gerry" Lenfest ($3 million) championed the effort (Inquirer Article).

The painting was exhibited Friday afternoon, January 5th, for the first time at the Philadelphia Museum of Art since the announced sale. Understandably the showing has created huge fanfare in the city and the artworld.
