I am very interested in techniques used in painting on yupo paper.
Since you can wipe back to white, is the paint permanent when it dries?

No, the paint is not permanent. The paper is slick and must be sprayed with a an acrylic spray fixative.

I have painted in watercolor on Yupo for several years. Recently I took a piece that I did about a year ago out of a frame and noticed that there had been significant fading. The piece was in a frame and a mat and under glass and was not exposed to direct sunlight. I did use a regular Krylon fixitive on it. Should I have used an acrylic fixitive? Is there a fixitive that is especially good about screening out UV? I used artists' grade Winsor-Newton paints. Does anyone know what to do about this? Thanks
